In recent years, Dezhou has taken new energy industry as significant step to seek entire city’s economic and social growth, identified construction of new energy characteristic industrial base as priority work and important program, given preference to carry out China Solar City strategy, enhanced organization and coordination, supported and pushed progress of solar energy industry. Dezhou solar industry represented by the firms like Zhongli Group is playing a leading role in China’s solar industry even in world solar industry. Dezhou deserves the host city of the 2010 4th International Solar Cities Initiative Congress.
There are 120 solar industry related firms in Dezhou which are engaged in solar energy, bio-energy, wind power equipment manufacture and electric auto and subterranean heat pump production. These firms’ income from main lines of business reached 22,000,000,000 Chinese Yuan in 2009, out of which, 2,800,000,000 Chinese Yuan is paid as tax. A relatively complete industrial chain between solar collectors and photovoltaic product has come into being. With 70 associated manufacturers, the industry is undergoing scale production.
Now, Dezhou corporate self innovation capacity is improved remarkably. Dezhou has established Solar Technical Research Center and Solar Monitoring Center which conduct research and study in these fields: solar heater, solar installation integration with building, solar thermal power generation, photovoltaic power and lighting, energy saving glass, solar air conditioner and seawater desalination etc.
It is learnt that there are 30 ongoing new energy projects developed on priority basis by Dezhou City in 2009, among which, nine belong to solar industry with total investment of 2,500,000,000 Chinese Yuan.
In 2010, 8 important projects are going on with total investment of 9,100,000,000 Yuan. On completion of these projects, additional 17,500,000,000 Yuan sales income a year will be produced. There are 18 projects proposed with total investment of 6,800,000,000 Yuan. Upon completion of these projects, additional 13,100,000,000 Yuan sales income a year will be generated.
