   Being a main new type of solar heater with special advantage, solar panel heater has been popular abroad for many years, however, slow development pace was witnessed in China in recent years.
   Panel heater market is much more than vacuum tube solar heater in other countries. Analysis showed the panel solar heater market domination in other countries is due to the following:
   First, panel heater is characterized of impact resistance, long lifespan and being easy to accommodate secondary circulation system. The cost of converting vacuum tube heater into pressure resistant split structure will be higher than that of panel heater.
   Second, panel heater can be installed into integral part of building, on roof and balcony. It is more acceptable for architects in their building design, achieving integration of building with the home appliance.
   Third, panel heater material is highly recyclable. Recyclable material like copper, aluminum or composite material is incorporated in the manufacture of panel heaters.
   Fourth, thermal performance of panel heater is high. Having been developed in other countries for many years, the thermal performance of panel heater is much better than vacuum tube heater.
   Fifth, panel heater system is safe and reliable with wide area to absorb light. Under the same sunlight condition, panel heater occupies less space than vacuum tube heater with spacing between tubes.
   Three types of solar heaters are available in Chinese market: vacuum tube, panel and light exposed closed type. Vacuum heaters dominate the market at present while panel heaters remain relatively less popular in Chinese market due to the following reasons:
   First, thermal function of domestic panel heaters (light efficiency ηless than 0.75, but thermal loss coefficientυ higher than 6w/m2•k）is lower than similar type of heater in other countries light efficiency ηmore than 0.75 to 0.78, but thermal loss coefficient υ less than 5w/m2•k）. Thermal loss of Chinese produced panel is much higher than that of vacuum heater (which υ is less than 3w/m2•k), resulting in low thermal capacity.
   Second, metal price hike and low production of panel heater result in the high price of quality panel heater.
   Third, as production cost of complete glass vacuum tube declines substantially and poker plug-in tube heater is structurally simple, the price of tube heater is comparatively low. Currently the sale of domestic heaters to medium sized cities and rural market accounts for 70% of total sale.
   However, thanks to unique advantage of panel heater, it will be popularly used in new building
   First, utilization of panel heater will be promoted in the construction of building and similar works.
   Second, owing to highly efficient coat and transparent cover technique development, the performance of panel heater is being improved significant and its market competition will be remarkable.
   Third, China’s wide area (including high altitude and cool region) is huge potential market for panel heater sale.
